Through ecstatic communion with the numinous powers that dwell inside the natural world, miracles may be unleashed.

Signature Zemí Purview: Behique

The behique are the shamans and medicine people of the Zemí, able to intervene with the
numinous powers that inhabit The World and to commune with the Zemí themselves. They do so
through the ritual consumption of cohoba. The behique also work with special idols which serve
as vessels for divine energies and can be made from stone, clay, wood, shell, or fiber. These idols
come in many shapes, but the most common are three-pointed sculptures. Through the Behique
Purview, a Scion develops their own relationship with the Zemí, learning to sense their presence
in the world and draw strength from their carved idols.

You are keenly attuned to the flow of miraculous energy in the world, including an intuitive understanding of the names and titles of the numinous powers with whom you interact. Once per scene, you may ask one of the following questions about a God, Scion, spirit, or other Legend-based character in the scene; if you leverage the Storyguide’s answers, you gain +3 Enhancement.

A Zemí Scion must balance the needs of her Community and Inclusivity. She knows that she is a tent pole of her family, of her neighborhood, of the society around her, but at the same time, she knows the value of her band, that she has others who can and will help her, and that she can’t go into conflicts on her own.
